KOKEMA DESIGN
Kokema Design is a Helsinki-based boutique design studio, founded in 2013 by Sabina Dontcheff and specialized in interior and architectural design.
The studio design for both the public and the private sector and our services cover the whole engagement life-cycle, ranging from brainstorming to project management.
The name Kokema comes from the Finnish word for experience (in finnish kokemus). Providing experiences through spaces is at the core of Kokema’s works. We bring our years of experience to all our projects and we use it along with our expertise to create unique spaces.
HOW WE WORK
LISTENING TO THE CLIENT
The design process starts with a client briefing, followed by the creation of various concepts for space utilization, along with 3D models and layout sketches. Throughout the project, we maintain continuous communication with the client to ensure the final outcome meets the needs of both the company and its employees.
BEING A PROFESSIONAL
Detailed drawings are essential for the successful execution of a project, providing clear guidance to builders, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and suppliers. On-site meetings and visits are also a key part of ensuring a fully satisfactory result. These allow us to verify that the implementation aligns with the original plans.
STAYING IN CONTACT
Seamless communication between the client and designer is crucial for a successful outcome. Regular meetings ensure the project stays on track and that any necessary changes are implemented promptly. Collaboration with specialized designers guarantees consistency across all plans, with everyone staying informed about the project's progress.
OBSERVING THE BUDGET
At the outset of a project, we typically provide a preliminary cost estimate to ensure the budget is adhered to. This estimate is refined and expanded as the project progresses. A realistic timeline and detailed cost estimate are essential for the successful implementation of any project.
